This is a French mahogany drop-flap centre table dating from the second Empire period (c.1870). The table stands on carved cabriole legs decorated with scroll work and a single bell flower motif. The legs terminate with scroll toes and stand on original brass castors, fitted with hardwood wheels (lignum vitae). The table is fitted with a single drawer that retains its original key. The top has a moulded edge and is fitted with a shaped drop-flap to each side. The flaps are supported with hinged mahogany supports. The table is of excellent quality throughout, with no damage or marks. The drawer and flaps work perfectly.
