This is an early 19th century (c.1800) Georgian mahogany linen press. The linen press stands on its original shaped bracket feet. The lower section is fitted with two long and two short drawers. The drawers are constructed from oak. The upper section has a pair of panelled doors. The drawer front and door panels are decorated with satinwood cross-banding, together with an ebony and boxwood line inlay. The drawers retain their original brass lion mask handles. The doors open to reveal five pull-out trays. The bottom tray is a well made later replacement The linen press is in very good clean condition with only a few minor blemishes, commensurate with age and usage. All drawers are clean and work well.
