Catalogue No. 2512
This is a late 18th century / early 19th century (c.1800) Georgian mahogany serpentine chest of drawers in the manner of George Hepplewhite. The chest stands on its original swept bracket feet and is fitted with four long oak lined drawers. The drawers retain their original oval brass handles and have inset boxwood escutcheons. The drawer linings are very clean and the drawers work well. This chest of drawers is of superior quality throughout and is totally original, exhibiting a good mellow colour. There is no damage, with the exception of an old small repair to one lower rail, along with very minor blemishes commensurate with age and usage.
