This is a mid 19th century (c.1850) mahogany carver armchair. The chair has turned and reeded front legs. The swept arms have reeded decoration and are supported at the front with turned vase shaped supports. The seat has been reupholstered in the traditional way using a stitched horsehair pad (not foam) and is covered in a russet striped pattern fabric. The chair is in good solid condition. There is a narrow repair to the rear of the top rail, which is only visible when viewed from the back. A very versatile chair which would be just as suitable as an office or desk chair.
