This is a mid 18th century (c.1770) mahogany Chippendale chest of four long drawers. The chest stands on it's original shaped bracket feet. The top has a flush moulded edge, often known as a caddy moulding (because of it's similarity to the moulding on a tea caddy of the same period). The chest is of a diminutive size and is constructed in the finest Cuban mahogany with the drawer fronts showing good graining. The chest has good proportions and is in excellent condition throughout, with only the odd small blemish commensurate with age. The handles are later replacements but are true to the period.
