This is an early 20th century (c.1920's) mahogany Chippendale revival style pedestal desk. Each pedestal stands on moulded bracket feet and is fitted with three graduated mahogany lined drawers. The drawers reach the full depth of the pedestals, providing excellent capacity. The desk has a working key. The pedestals are decorated with carved floral motifs and fitted with brass swan neck handles. The top section is fitted with three drawers, with the central drawer being slightly recessed. The top section is decorated with carved floral patera. The desk is constructed in three sections: top and two pedestals, for ease of transport and placement. The desk is of excellent quality throughout with no damage and only very minor blemishes, commensurate with age and usage.
