This is a late 18th century (c.1790) mahogany bureau. The bureau stands on shaped bracket feet and is fitted with two short and three long drawers. The drawers are constructed with oak linings. The fall opens to reveal an interior fitted with the normal arrangement of small drawers with pigeon holes above, with a central cupboard fitted with five small drawers including one secret drawer to the rear of the bottom drawer. The bureau is constructed using the finest quality mahogany and has only minor marks and blemishes, commensurate with age and usage.
