Catalogue No. 1991
This is a mid 19th century (c.1870) oak pedestal desk. The pedestals stand on a plinth base with recessed castors. Each pedestal is fitted with three graduated drawers. The top section is fitted with three drawers, forming nine drawers around a central knee-hole. The drawers retain their original turned oak knobs and the desk is fitted with a key. The top (writing surface) of the desk is fitted with an antiqued red and gold tooled calf hide leather. The desk is in good clean condition through-out with only the odd small blemish commensurate with age and usage.
The desk is constructed in three separate parts - top and two pedestals - making it easier for transportation and movement.
