Catalogue No. 2185
This is a mid 18th century (c.1770) Georgian chest with two short and three long drawers. The chest is constructed in Virginian walnut - often called red walnut, which mellows to a honey colour compared to the darker mahogany used at this time. The chest stands on its original shaped bracket feet. The drawers retain heir original brass pierced plate handles. The chest is decorated with quarter corinthian columns to each side. The chest is in excellent and original condition, with very clean drawers and only minor marks and bruises, commensurate with age and usage.
