Catalogue No. 1997
This is an early 20th century (c.1910) satinwood oval occasional table. The table is decorated with painted swags of foliage and flowers. The frame is also decorated with a banding of boxwood incorporating a kingwood crossbanding. The table stands on slender swept legs connected with shaped rails that are fitted to a central turn finial. The table is sturdy and in good general condition with a few minor shrinkage cracks to the rails (this is due to the construction of the frame shrinking to a different degree than the veneer). There is sign of wear to a very small area of the edge of the top. This is a very elegant little table.
