This is a mid 19th century (c.1860) Victorian burr walnut card table. The table is supported by four turned columns and four swept legs that are decorated with incised carving, with leaf carved decoration to the toes. The table is fitted with its original china wheeled castors. The top of the table is veneered in well chosen burr walnut and contains a band of pollarded elm that is inset into contrasting ebony. The top lifts and rotates to reveal a compartment for cards and counters and a relined baize playing surface. The table is in excellent clean condition and exhibits a good colour.
