This is a late 17th / early 18th century (c.1700) Queen Anne period walnut chest of four long drawers. The chest is of panelled construction (the side panels being flush with the rails, giving the look of solid sides. The chest stands on replacement turned bun feet (correct and appropriate for the period). The drawer fronts have a narrow band of cross grain veneer and are fitted with later brass plate handles. The top is quarter veneered with four book-matched panels of walnut, decorated with a band of cross-banding to the edge. The chest is on good clean condition with only minor bumps and bruises, commensurate with age and usage.
