Catalogue No. 2392
This is an early 19th century (c.1830) William IV mahogany bow fronted chest of two short and three long drawers. The chest stands on shaped bracket feet, connected with an apron. The top and drawer fronts are veneered with well chosen flame grain and the drawer linings are constructed in oak. The drawers are fitted with later Victorian brass drop handles. A point of interest with this chest is that it has a name and date written in pencil on the inside of the back - only visible with the drawers removed - John Manver March 17 1832. The chest is in excellent condition and exhibits a good mellow colour, with only minor bumps and bruises commensurate with age. The drawers work well and internally are very clean.
