This is a late 17th century (c.1680) oak coffer. The coffer stands on stile feet with the legs and rails decorated with incised mouldings. The coffer has three panels to the front, each carved and moulded with a diamond shaped design. the top is constructed from two wide oak boards. The hinges are a later old replacement as is the lock and key. The coffer exhibits a rich colour and is in good clean condition, with no damage.
